About · The Loma story

Named for the mountain.

Loma takes its name from the Loma Mountains in northern Sierra Leone, home to Mount Bintumani, the highest peak in the country. Every great player starts at the bottom of a climb. Our job is to guide that climb — with football, education and character — step by step, until a young person from Sierra Leone stands where the whole world can see them.

The academy began in Calaba Town, Freetown, in 2017 as Young Doctors FC, founded by Alpha Bangura, and later played as Bangs FC. Now it is Loma Academy: three names, one academy. The work never stopped.
